Cookie Policy
This page explains how KAMS (Kaizen Ambient Medical Scribe) (“KAMS,” “we,” “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on getkams.com and related apps.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixels. They help sites remember preferences, keep you signed in, and (where you allow it) measure how the site is used.
2. How we use cookies
We use cookies and similar storage to:
- Authenticate sessions and protect accounts
- Remember theme and essential preferences
- Support security and abuse prevention
- Load optional analytics / measurement (Google Tag Manager) only when you consent
For broader personal-data practices, see our Privacy Policy.
3. Types of cookies we use
3.1. Essential (always active)
Required for the Service to function. These do not require consent under typical cookie rules.
- Session / auth cookies — keep you signed in (managed by our authentication provider; HTTP-only where applicable)
- Security cookies — CSRF protection, admin MFA session markers, and similar controls
- Preference storage — for example theme (
kams-theme) and cookie consent choice (kams-cookie-consentin local storage)
3.2. Analytics (optional)
If you choose “Accept all” or enable analytics in preferences, we may load Google Tag Manager (and tags configured inside that container). These help us understand traffic, page performance, and feature interest. Analytics tags are not loaded until you opt in.
We do not intentionally send the content of clinical notes to advertising networks via cookies.
4. Managing your preferences
On your first visit you will see a cookie banner. You can:
- Accept all — essential + analytics
- Essential only — no analytics tags
- Manage — choose categories, then save
You can change your mind at any time:
You can also clear site data or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in or break parts of the Service.
5. Third-party technologies
When analytics is enabled, Google may set or read cookies subject to Google’s terms and privacy policy. Other processors we use for the core product (hosting, payments, email) may set their own necessary cookies when you use those features — described further in the Privacy Policy.
6. Updates
We may update this Cookie Policy when our practices or tools change. Material changes may be reflected in the cookie banner (including a new consent version that asks you to choose again).
7. Contact
